Space – The final craft fail

Things don’t go as planned. I had saved the Galaxy egg tutorial from Pinterest and knew I was going to do a painting very soon. I mean how hard could painting be? Well…. I”m here to tell you when you first start, Bob Ross can suck it because there are no happy little trees. It’s more like deformed demented trees from the Wizzard of Oz.

Ok, I read the Galaxy egg tutorial and thought no problem. I did everything the write up said but… my galaxy looked more something following the big bang than the current Galaxy. I mean, the painting itself isn’t that bad. For a piece of abstract art. I never got to the stars. I gave up.

I originally started with a foam brush. but I had too much paint loaded in the brush. I thought I removed most of the paint. After a few times, I painted over what I had just created and used a brush. At first, it had potential. But after a while, it just didn’t turn into a galaxy.

Feeling determined, I saw a paint a galaxy in 10 minutes on YouTube. Thinking, “Maybe I did the wrong technique.” The video I watched, he used a round brush and really quick brush strokes. At first, I thought, “I got this.” Then after I started I realized, “Nope, I didn’t got this.” It’s one of those videos, you realize about 2 minutes in if you had the background in painting. This video would so work. It will take me some time to build my skills and I will eventually be able to paint a galaxy.

Anna over at Made Soulful said I needed to use sponges to create it. Because it was F’ed up! That’s my interpretation of the painting, not Anna’s. I’ll keep you posted on the progress. The picture above is the one I created It’s called Galaxy Deconstructed. Why paint over it? The other one, well it got painted over…
