Welcome to my little craft blog on the net

Welcome to my little craft blog on the net. I have been debating doing this for a few years. Actually, I have had the domain since 2015! So, that should tell you something!

What is Craft Factor 9?

Glad you asked! It’s a craft blog that will do a lot of things. First, it will be my take on crafts and sort of lean to the geeky side.  That means you will see crafts inspired by Doctor Who, Star Wars, Star Trek, Firefly and all kinds of other geeky stuff.

That doesn’t mean there won’t be some traditional crafting going on here. I have a ton of ideas and now I have to do them!

Who am I?

Well I live in Atlanta area. I have always been crafty but never really did much as an adult. I remember in elementary school we needed to create snowmen out of construction paper. I hated what I did at school, so I hid it in my notebook and went home to redo it. Then brought it back to school and everyone was amazed at what I did the previous day. LOL I was not having a janky snowman!

I rediscovered my crafting side when I got to work at Plaid for three months in 2014. It was like something was awoken! Give me the FolkArt, Mod Podge and more and let’s do this!

Oh, and I’m a guy. Which is kinda rare in the world of crafting. Most crafting blogs are women. I can count on one hand all the craft blogs I have read by guys. It’s time we change that and show guys are just as crafty!

What do I want to Accomplish?

I”m all about education and sharing. I was a crafty kid but recently got back into it. I have a lot to learn. Note that, because I won’t be doing things “correctly”  at times. But it’s a learning adventure and I plan to take all of you on it.

Next, I want to share detailed instructions and tips. I HATE blogs where they leave steps out or don’t give you all the information. If I ever do that, it will be an oversight on my part. And, if this happens, feel free to post a comment or email me and let me know I left something out.

Fails are welcome. I am by no means perfect. You will see fails along with successes and how I fixed them. Let’s face it we all fail. It’s how we learn and do better things. Why hide the fails? Celebrate them and I could help someone else not make the same mistake I did.

Lastly, I want to have fun! I want to do new things and have a great time doing it. I’m creative and fun and plan to do a lot with this blog. God help you people and my first videos and live streams. A train wreck comes to mind.

What’s Next?

I will be posting a few projects that are a few years old. Note that I may forget things in creating those. But going forward I will be doing fun stuff and maybe even downloadable instructions (if I feel industrious that day).

Posts will be about crafting and the industry as well. This isn’t going to be a solely project based blog. I want to talk about new things and things I don’t get. And maybe interview fellow craft blogs and talk to them about a range of topics.

I look forward to having fun and sharing with you soon!
